After an interesting series of events at a movie night at his house, I am secretly sort-of-but-not-actually going out with a good friend of mine, who incidentally shares my birthday.

It's all such a secret because there are two or three other girls who publicly like him and would not be impressed with me if anything happened.

The three other friends who were at the sleepover also know and don't like it very much. They think it will end badly and mess up our friendship group, but they're getting over it.

I also told my friend, who I call Angel, because she is a kind and wonderful person who is very beautiful and trustworthy. She approves of me and the said boy, she thinks it's nice.

I'm currently in the keyboard lab at school, looking at my serialism composition. No-one else is here or knows I'm here.

It's liberating.

Hmmm. The euphoria of being single again has worn off and have been spending my time reminiscing about really lovely times with ex boyfriend. Not a good start.

Getting up a picture of him on facebook didn't help either.

Kind of bad things which have happened in the past week which haven't really upset/annoyed me

• Broke up with boyf, 5 months and 4 days later. We're still friends though :)
• Secretly went to teacher and told her about a former friend cheating on coursework (again. it's happened before, only previously it was her copying me and this time it was her getting some German girl to do her coursework).
• Started school again after summer. (And now we're back at school, the weather is good! And it's been raining all summer! Sod's law.)
• Had a friend rename me (replacing my nom de plume with my real name, of course): Cherry 'My-Ex-Boyfriend-Prefers-Hockey-To-Girls' Wilde.
  

Kind of bad things which have happened in the past week which actually have quite upset/annoyed me

• Had to put up with five days of former friend (mentioned above) singing in lessons. (I, unwittingly, am in every single lesson with her.) Oh, how I have not missed that.
• Lost a small carved elephant, which was a present from India from a good friend. It disappeared out of my locker in the space of about three and a half hours. Had a dream it was the girl I said about who sings all the time. Probably isn't but will be on the lookout for suspicious behaviour.

Forgot to do any more holiday posting, for which I apologise.

Oh well.

Last day of summer today and it hasn't been too fun. Went to a friend's party yesterday, made our own pizzas and played Scrabble, using interesting words.

Had such a boring day yesterday.

Went to a garden party with the neighbours (who are all at least fifty). It rained; we played croquet; I lost badly because my randomly picked croquet partner was terrible; I ate lasagne.

The only good bit was when the banoffee pie came out (mmmmphh) and when I got my iPod out and got lost in Echo Beach for a while.

Speaking of which, MPHO's sample of Echo Beach is quite good. It's called 'Box N Locks'.

Hahaaaa, had a family trip to the beach yesterday.

Took an absolute age to get there due to parents arguing over which beach to go to.

I think that we'd been to about 6 before Mum decided she liked it. Seriously.

(If you're interested, it was West Beach near Llandudno, Wales, only a certain way up it to a point where there are rocks AND sand, and you can see out to sea as well as across to the rest of Wales.)

On one of the beaches we went to, we sat down on the rocks and ate egg sandwiches while Mum assured everyone that, once the tide went out, there would be sand. (We were all getting pretty uncomfortable on the rocks.) Eventually, my sister put her wetsuit on, waded as deep as she could go and assured everyone, with the help of a snorkel, that it was rocks all the way. (Which prompted another beach move.)

Thanks to a trip down Llandudno Pier, however, I now have a pirate flag and a copy of Ghostbusters on DVD. The latter only cost £2.99 so I'm not sure if it's of a similar nature to the flag. I hope not.

Have made £41 selling 2 phones on fonebank.com! (Samsung P260 and HTC S710, if you're interested. They were knocking about in a drawer so I asked Dad if I could.)

Plus an extra £5.05 for a Motorola A910 on envirofone.com and I'm doing pretty well :)

Found out which ones offered the best prices on this website. 'S'all good!

Have just eaten my body weight in Jelly Tots in the hope that I will finish my History coursework super-fast, riding the crest of an insane sugar high.

So far it isn't working.

Went into town yesterday with some friends. I now have some colourful Sharpies and a large piece of white card that says 'FREE HUGS' on it. Will probably come in useful someday.

I don't know how to start this, so I'll just begin.

I've spent most of today failing to do my German coursework, which is supposed to be an account of a holiday. So far I have one paragraph. I haven't been struggling because it's especially hard: it's just that I really need to find a summer job if I want to go to New York on the school choir tour next year and everywhere I have tried so far has failed. When I next get a chance, I'll go into town and give copies of my CV to all the small businesses and shops but until then, no job for me. I called a number given on the internet for a small cafe down the road but I doubt it'll come to anything. (Sigh.)

Das Essen war sehr lecker aber nicht so gesund: wir haben oft Hamburgers und Pommes frites gegessen. Typisches Amerikanes Essen!

On the plus side, I can play Bella's Lullaby on piano.
